Dyana Delfín Polk, MPP (she/ella)

Dyana Marie Delfín Polk is a seasoned political organizer, nonprofit executive, policy analyst, and campaign consultant with deep roots in the East Bay. With over 15 years of experience in electoral politics, government, and nonprofit management, she has worked in the Berkeley Mayor’s Office, served as a policy advisor to Oakland Councilmember Kevin Jenkins, and was the Associate Executive Director of HOMEY SF, a violence prevention nonprofit in San Francisco’s Mission District. While at the City of Berkeley, Dyana was an active SEIU 1021 member, advocating for worker protections and pay equity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dyana remains involved with the Campaign Workers Guild, helping unionize campaign workers nationwide. Currently, she consults for East Bay organizations on nonprofit and coalition management while supporting city council, transit, and school board campaigns across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin Counties—focusing on electing women, LGBTQ+, and candidates of color. In addition to her consulting work, Dyana serves as an elected Trustee for the Peralta Community College District, where she advocates for accessible and equitable higher education for students in Alameda County.
Born on Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento County, Dyana was raised in Merced and Berkeley in a Mexican-American family. She earned an Associate’s degree from Merced College, a Bachelor’s in American History and Chicano Studies from UC Berkeley, and a Master’s in Public Policy from Mills College.
A lifelong Democrat, Dyaa co-founded the Latino Young Democrats of the East Bay, serves as a California Democratic Party delegate, and leads YIMBY Latino, advocating for affordable and inclusive housing. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the Multicultural Institute, a West Berkeley nonprofit supporting Latino immigrant families, day laborers, and domestic workers.
In her free time, Dyana enjoys gardening, yoga, reading, and traveling.
